10 Phrases US Wants Canceled Hang In Many Michigan Homes, Offices

Chances are if you are reading this and, you live in Michigan, you know someone who has at least 1 of these 10 phrases hanging on a wall that people across the country agree need to go. Some of these sayings have been around a while, others just long enough to smell funny.

The language experts at Preply surveyed 995 Americans by asking their opinion of certain inspiring phrases that are scattered across Michigan, and the entire country. Of those phrases, several stood out as stale or just plain foolish enough to make it onto a 'CANCEL' list.

I worked in an office where, for years, there was a picture of a kitten hanging on a clothesline with the phrase "HANG IN THERE" emblazoned upon it. Every time I passed that sign, I had the following thoughts:

1. Why stop to take a picture of the poor cat rather than help it?
2. If you have to display a sign reminding your team to "HANG IN THERE" maybe you should rethink the way you're running the joint.

Inspirational quotes that are slapped on posters or painted on pallets often age about as well as coleslaw at an August picnic.
