Michigan vs. Ohio: Revealing the University With More NFL Players
The rivalry between Michigan and Ohio is extensive. The two states have never agreed on much, and once even went to war over Toledo. These harsh feelings carried over into one of college football's oldest rivalries. The University of Michigan vs. Ohio State University's annual clash may fall on rivalry week, but don't be too quick to dismiss Michigan State University's loathing of the Buckeyes. Between the three institutions, thousands of players have left their college stadiums for the lights of the NFL, but which one has produced the most pros?

Research conducted by DegreeChoices, a higher education research group, combed over data from the Pro Football Reference to discover which state had the highest number of college players who went on to play in the NFL. Though neither Michigan nor Ohio was home to the number one university for professional football player production, both states appeared in the top ten.

Between the two state rivals, Michigan and Ohio have produced a total of 1,370 NFL players. That said, OSU has had more players move on to the pros than either U of M or MSU.
That said, if you add up the pros from both Michigan schools, the Great Lake State dominates as the home of the Buckeyes.
Conversely, the number-one school in the country for college players who've gone on to the NFL shares a border with both Michigan and Ohio and has graduated more professional athletes than any other program.
