There are two lucky spots in southeast Michigan that just became the aquatic version of a buffet, according to a media advisory from the DNR:
  • Huron River (Proud Lake Recreation Area, Oakland County)
    • Nearly 2,400 trout were dropped into these waters. Think brown and rainbow trout ranging from 13 to 20 inches.
  • Spring Mill Pond (Island Lake Recreation Area, Livingston County)
    • Another 600-plus trout, same impressive size range. Basically, it's now a retirement community with fins.

  • April 26 and after: Game on. Keep up to 5 trout, but only 3 can be over 15 inches.
