Don't get freaked out, but next Wednesday, March 27th, you'll be hearing tornado sirens at 1PM, as Michigan holds it's annual statewide tornado drill. According to Click On Detroit, Gov Whitmer has proclaimed next week, March 24th through the 30th to be Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan. You don't have to participate, but it would be a good idea to at least have some sort of plan in case we get severe weather this spring or summer.

As everybody in Durand knows, we've already had severe weather roll through. The Michigan State Police, Homeland Security and most state facilities will participate in the drill. It's not mandatory for your business to participate, but it's a good idea to everyone to know where to head when the sirens sound for real.
