Michigan Has Its Own Ice Circle – And It’s Spectacular

On the Presumpscot River in Westbrook, Maine, people have been enjoying a 300-foot ice circle for most of January. It's gotten a lot of press. Maybe too much. Recently, a man from New Jersey climbed onto the ice with an axe and chain-saw, to carve a "giant peace symbol" in the ice. According to ThisIsInsider.com, he just managed to carve out big chunks and put a big crack in the ice. Nice job, genius. The man, Christopher Angelo, told reporters, "I want it to spin around so bad, and create that visual for people to see of peace making the world go around in Westbrook."

Wow.

Meanwhile, in Michigan, according to MLive.com, we've got our own ice circle on the Cedar River near Gladwin. It's not as big as the one in Maine - but it's being left alone by chain-saw wielding "artists".
