RECALL ALERT: Michigan Targets Pull Baby Food Over Lead Fears
Parents across Michigan are urged to check their stock after a baby food recall involving Target's Good & Gather brand. Over 25,000 4-ounce containers of Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree are being pulled from shelves due to potentially elevated levels of—lead.

According to WILX, the product was made by Miami-based Fruselva and distributed exclusively at Target stores, including several in Michigan.
Target's Recalled Baby Food Lot Numbers
Not all Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree was contaminated, so check your pantry for the following lot numbers and expiration dates:
- Lot #4167
- Best By Date of December 7, 2025
- Lot #4169
- Best By Date of December 9, 2025
According to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall began in March as a Class II recall. This means the food is unlikely to cause life-threatening health problems but may lead to temporary or reversible health issues. That's still serious enough for babies and nervous parents.
What Are the Next Steps?
If you purchased the Good & Gather baby food that has been recalled, USA Today reports you should call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 or visit a Target store for a refund.

Health officials are clear: do not feed this product to your child. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reminds us that no lead levels are safe for infants and toddlers. Better safe than sorry, especially regarding the health of Michigan's babies.
