WILX News 10 Chief Meteorologist Darrin Rockcole says it's still early, but:

Friday is the day to watch this week. A storm system is expected to pass just to the south of Michigan and bring precipitation to the area. Some computer models are showing all snow and lots of it. Other models have us starting off with a rain/snow mix Friday morning switching to all snow later in the day Friday. We do know Friday will be windy with high temperatures in the 30s.

It's too soon for the National Weather Service to make any accumulation predictions or issue any winter weather watches or warnings for the system that's expected to affect much of Mid-Michigan as we head into this weekend, but forecasters at AccuWeather are stepping out early. Here are their initial snowfall total predictions for individual communities around the region.

Major cities that are likely to have major disruptions and direct airline delays and flight cancellations include Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee.

We will continue to monitor this developing weather situation and will update as appropriate.
