The excitement of that first snowfall of the year in Michigan usually wears off when we have to add snow shoveling to our daily chore list. And like any chore, we want to get it done and off our list as soon as possible. Not only are there consequences for not shoveling, you could pay big time and even end up in jail for snow shoveling errors.
When snow covers the roads we drive on and piles up on our sidewalks, we're more concerned about getting it out of the way then to stop and stare at the splendor of a Michigan snowfall. But, when we do get to stop and watch it from inside our warm homes, it truly is a sight to see. Especially when there is more than one type of snow to enjoy in Michigan.
We generally hope for snow on Christmas in Michigan, but we could see the flakes flying ahead of the winter holiday. With colder temps becoming the norm in the forecast soon, it's just a matter of time before we go from fall colors to a wintry white landscape here in the Great Lakes state. And we could see some of that winter wonderland join the feast on Thanksgiving.
