Things are about to get a bit sweeter in East Lansing with the opening of a new eatery.

New Eatery Opening in East Lansing

The Greater Lansing food scene has experienced many changes throughout 2026. We've seen a multitude of opening and closings, with more of the former than the latter. And there are still lots of eateries that plan on opening some time this year.

One of those upcoming openings is Mochinut!

Mochinut is going to be the sweet new addition to East Lansing, and they just announced that they'll be opening soon. Mochinut is known for its chewy mochi donuts, which combine the texture of traditional Japanese mochi with the sweetness of a classic donut.

Mochinut East Lansing Grand Opening Date Announced

The grand opening celebrations will take place Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26. Plan to head to 311 W Grand River Avenue in East Lansing that weekend to get your fill of mochi donuts, Korean-style corndogs, boba teas, and more. Mochinut also seems to be planning some "free promotion events," but there are no specific details yet on what those might be.

For those that have been waiting for Mochinut to come to town, the announcement of the grand opening has been nearly a year in the making.

Mochinut originally announced that they would be opening a location in East Lansing back in mid-August 2025. But a month later, the Mochinut East Lansing Instagram page had seemingly been deleted.

However, Mochinut reappeared on the foodie radar in April this year when we spied that they put signage up on the outside of the upcoming location as well as re-establishing its Instagram page.

If you like interesting desserts, Korean-style corndogs, and boba tea, Mochinut should be on your list to visit when it opens.
