Delta Township’s July 3 Fireworks Show Has Been Discontinued
Fireworks are the typical way that July 4th festivities are celebrated throughout the state of Michigan. The sky is absolutely filled with bright colors and large booms for days in early July.
However, Fourth of July celebrations will look a little different in Delta Township in 2026.
Sadly, Delta Township has announced that it's canceling its annual July 3 fireworks show for 2026. The word "discontinued" was actually used.
Why Delta Township Is Canceling the Fireworks
While there are multiple reasons for the discontinuation of the event, two main factors include budget constraints and safety concerns.
In previous years, the fireworks show would draw 20,000+ people. In order to pull off an event of that size, it takes a lot of money and man power. Unfortunately, the county's sheriff's office has experienced some budget cuts due to a failed millage proposal.

This isn't the first time Delta Township has canceled the fireworks, as the 2025 show as canceled as well. Financial strains were one of the factors of the 2025 cancellation too.
Delta Township will be hosting other events throughout the summer, like Juneteenth Unity Fest, Father's Day, Art in the Park, and a lot more.
