It was payday, so you know what that means — time for a little treat.

But in all seriousness, I had an appointment and needed lunch and decided to treat myself to something I hadn't tried before. I'm so glad I did because I had a delicious meal.

Yello Waffle is tucked inside this plaza off Marsh Road. It's a little eatery that serves two styles of Belgian waffles — the Liège (pronounced like Lee-edge) and Brussels.

There were all kinds of sweet and savory options when it came to the waffles. While everything sounded delicious (I'm coming back for that Liège dark chocolate waffle), I decided on something savory to eat because I was getting something sweet to drink.

I got a savory Brussels waffle — which is made fresh to order — topped with a fried egg, bacon, and hot honey. It was absolutely delicious. The savory waffle was filled with cheese and green onions, and the whole thing was topped with the lightest dusting of powdered sugar, giving the dish the slightest hint of sweet to go with the salty and savory.

I also got the Marshmallow Hot Cocoa, and that was fantastic too! If you're a big fan of marshmallow and how it tastes after you toast it around a fire, this is the drink for you. The top of the cocoa is covered with toasted marshmallow, so much so that I was given a spoon to eat it with.

If you have little ones, this is also a kid-friendly place! There is a table just for little kiddos, and there are all kinds of toys to help keep them entertained.

If you're looking to try something new, fun, and fresh, Yello Waffle might be a place to try.
