Walmart Recalls 850K Insulated Bottles From Michigan Stores
Walmart just announced a recall across all of its stores here in Michigan, after roughly 850,000 Ozark Trail 64-oz stainless steel insulated water bottles (model83-662) were found to be defective. The silver bottles with black screw on lids had been sold since 2017 for about $15 a piece.
The Problem?
The bottles have been known to explode and build up pressure when food, milk, juice or even carbonated drinks are stored in these bottles for a length of time. When opened, the lid may shoot off with force, potentially hitting someone in the face or the eye.

There have been three documented incidents where the lid struck users in the face, and in one of the instances, the individual permanently lost vision in their eye. This is a clear danger to anyone using the product.
