Lansing-Area Boys Basketball Poll – (Week of January 8th)
The holiday break is over and now get ready for an intense month and a half of basketball before the state tournament begins on February 26th.
We still have only two area boys teams that are undefeated right now. They are: 8-0 East Lansing and 7-0 Laingsburg. In fact, the Wolfpack have won 35 of their last 37 games.
And there aren't many teams left that have only one loss on the ledger. They are: 8-1 Okemos, 8-1 DeWitt, 6-1 Portland, and 7-1 Pewamo-Westphalia.
With everybody back from break, there are also some very good matchups to look for this week.
On Tuesday, 8-1 DeWitt is at 7-2 Mason. Williamston is at Grand Ledge, and Charlotte is at Ionia.
It's CMAC night on Wednesday as P-W visits Dansville and Laingsburg looks to stay unbeaten as they host Lansing Christian.
On Thursday, the CAAC Blue takes the stage as 7-2 Waverly goes to 8-0 East Lansing. While 8-1 Okemos heads to Grand Ledge to face the Comets.
Friday's action features Eastern at Mason, Portland at Eaton Rapids, Ionia at Sexton, and Charlotte @ Olivet. In addition to that, Fowler is at Perry and Stockbridge hosts Battle Creek Calhoun Christian.
We will have the Waverly at East Lansing boys game on our airwaves this Thursday night. Brock Palmbos and Erik "Doc" Love have the call from the balcony at East Lansing HS. We'll hit the air at 7:00pm.
And Brock will recap everything that happened during the week this coming Saturday with High School Rewind. Which airs every Saturday morning during the basketball season from 10am-11am.
