These days, sadly, we see posts on social media all of the time of folks who go missing in Michigan. Often it's teens, older people, or small children. But, prior to the prevalence of the internet and social media, it was harder to spread the word.

Gordon Page, Sr. told Unsolved Mysteries that his son was very into collecting baseball cards and he estimated that "Gordie", as the family called him, had "twenty-five or thirty thousand baseball cards". (You can see the Unsolved Mysteries episode on YouTube.)
Six weeks after Gordie was seen hitchhiking along I-96, part of a baseball collection was found under an overpass. Why do investigators think that this collection is tied to Gordie? A report from ClickOnDetroit explains that three cards were very obviously separated from the larger collection - and those three happened to be the cards of Gordie's favorite players.
