Everybody has their own idea of what comfort food is, personally I like chili, soul food, and breakfast sandwiches but other people like soup or pasta. Everyone thinks of different memories or places of the world when they want comfort which brings about the different options for comfort food as each state and country have different eating habits.

All comfort food isn't created equally as I think we can all agree that we would like to have a home cooked meal rather than one that is prepared at a restaurant. Nonetheless, you can still find your comfort food options at a number of restaurants so you're never too far away from home. This restaurant was named the best place to get comfort food in Michigan.

Lovefood.com is a website that I'm quickly falling in love with as they are helping me find all the best places to get certain food across not only the state of Michigan but the entire country. This time around they set out to find the best places to get comfort food in each state. Slows Bar BQ in Detroit, Michigan was selected for the Mitten state.

Here's what lovefood.com had to say about comfort food in Michigan:

This casual joint in Detroit serves up classic American barbecue food at its finest. The menu is packed with meaty must-tries like burnt ends, wings, smoked brisket, pulled pork, and chicken thighs, which all come with a variety of sides. There's also an enticing specials menu featuring the likes of chicken and sausage gumbo, as well as a good selection of burgers – customers love the signature Reason burger with smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, and dill pickles.

Looks like I might have to make a trip over to the Motor City and see what this Motown comfort food is all about.
