Jackson’s Short-lived Teen Club, The Hullabaloo: 1968
Back in the 1960s, the Jackson area seemed to have an endless number of places where teens could go dancing and listen to live rock bands. The Back Door, the Jackson Armory, the YMCA's “Blue Light” dances, Green's Pavilion, Wampler's Lake Pavilion, and Granny's A-Go-Go.
On April 19, 1968 another venue was added to the mix: the Hullabaloo 'Scene', a teen dance club based on the TV show of the same name. Located at 302 W. Prospect Street across from McDonald's, it was attached to Woodie's Brass Rail lounge. The band that first night was 'The Plain Brown Wrapper', the house band for WJIM-TV's “Swing Lively” program in Lansing.
While the Hullabaloo TV program featured a bevy of the biggest stars with their biggest 60s hits, the Hullabaloo Club featured mostly Michigan bands. Many local groups would show up to play, but so did Michigan's biggies: Ted Nugent, The Stooges, The MC5, and Alice Cooper.

Kids could come dance their hearts out every Friday and Saturday from 8-11:30pm with a different band each night.
Even so, the Hullabaloo Scene doesn't appear to have lasted a full year. According to MLive, by 1969, it wasn't evven listed in the city directory........
but then came Goose Lake.....
