There are, surprisingly, a good number of Michigan residents who are familiar with this extremely unique haunted location.... it’s a railroad trestle bridge of all places. It’s one of the Adrian area's most legendary haunted locations, with a legend that dates back to the late 1800s.

One evening, a farmer's barn caught fire, possibly caused by an animal knocking over a lantern – the cause was never determined. As he went out to save the horses and put out the flames, his wife grabbed their baby and ran toward the trestle on the railroad tracks, hoping to flag down an oncoming train for help. As she reached the rails, she tripped, fell onto the tracks, and the train ran over both mom and baby. Not knowing what happened to his family, the farmer ended up dying in the barn fire.

So you probably guessed: that bridge is now haunted by all three. The farmer haunts the trestle and the sounds of the mother’s screams and baby’s cries can be detected.

Here are a few comments by some who visited the site:
“I was at the ghost trestle last night and down the tracks you could see the ghost train and hear it. I sat there for about 15 minutes and a train never passed through.”

“We climbed to the top of the bridge and heard footsteps around our car that was parked on the side of the bridge. Once we got into the car to leave, my phone started acting up like crazy. When we were backing up to leave, our backup camera kept detecting things that weren’t there.”

“While visiting this bridge, I closed my eyes and heard screaming which was soon accompanied by a girl running along the train tracks. She had wavy dirty blonde hair, glasses, and a turtleneck. Every so often she would scream for help and I was just overcome with her feelings of terror.”

"My (very skeptical) friend saw 3 humanoid figures come out from the bushes and I saw a 4th watching from a few feet away."

Those are actual accounts. Whether they are exaggerations or experiences caused by alcohol or weed, who knows? I guess you’ll have to pay a visit for yourself... Located just a tad southwest of Adrian off M-52. As you head south on M-52, turn right on W. Gier Road. Turn left on Bailey highway and you'll see the trestle just a few feet down the road.
