Ever heard of the small town of Willis in Washtenaw County? If not, you’re about to, and a little ghostly legend that goes with it.

Willis lies southeast of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti and contains some old storefronts that have been converted into homes with a decent population. But on the corner of Willis Road and Meridian Street is an establishment that seems to have some paranormal activity - the Bone Head's BBQ.

This eatery was built way back in the 1860s and had its share of different owners & businesses: butcher shop, coach shop, icehouse and post office. Even with all the past owners in a business that draws some of the most troublesome customers, there is no recorded history that says there were any deaths or sinister happenings on the property. Be that as it may, there seems to be a number of spirits who have decided to make Bones Head their home.

Before Bone Head's BBQ opened in 2009, there were no reported paranormal happenings; but once it became Bones Head that year, the activity began.

1) The apparition of an old woman with her hair pulled back in a bun has been seen upstairs. It's believed that the woman could have been a former owner who lived above the store.
2) Another ghost is that of a young female who seems to have set up residence in the ladies' bathroom. Possibly the bathroom was this girl's bedroom in the past?
3) Expensive items like vases began getting broken by unseen hands

It was the destruction of these items that prompted the owners to have a talk with the spirits. Thinking the ghosts were unhappy with the new owners, they told them their business intentions were on the up & up.

Some think the structure was at one time used as a brothel and the female spirits were trying to discourage the owners from turning into another one.
