Just five months ago, we got news that Marvel was planning a Ghost Rider series at Hulu. The show would have starred the Robbie Reyes version of the popular Marvel character, and starred Gabriel Luna, spinning off his performance as Robbie in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series. Now, less than half a year later, we’re getting word the show is not moving forward after all.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has been driven aground over creative differences:

Sources note creative issues stalled the series that was to feature Gabriel Luna reprising the fan-favorite role from ABC's fellow Marvel drama Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Luna’s Ghost Rider was introduced in Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Although the classic version of the character was a flaming skull-headed dude on a fiery motorcycle (either stunt rider Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch), the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider drove a mystical muscle car.

Luna appeared in nine S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes; his spinoff series was initially slated to debut sometime in 2020. But now it’s off, and Ghost Rider returns to limbo. (His film series starring Nicolas Cage stalled out with 2012’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.) For that character, that feels somewhat appropriate; he’s quite good at flaming out.
