Half a Century Ago, This Was One of Lansing’s Favorite Restaurants

One of Lansing’s favorite places to eat was the former Fred Eyer's Steak House on Old 27.

Not much seems to be historically recorded about the place, including when it opened, but there are a good number of old ads and articles on the restaurant that date back to the 1950s.

Later it became known as Zum Nordhaus, Guerrazzi’s, and currently the Greater Lansing Academy of Dance.

The face of the building looks extremely different now than when it was Eyer’s, but old satellite photos compared to recent ones show the original building was not demolished, as some are led to believe, but a new wing was added.
