Sparrow Hospital has announced temporary restricted access to young patients due to higher than normal potential flu cases.

Visits to Sparrow's Pediatric Department, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, are limited to parents and grandparents.

According to hospital officials, no more than three healthy visitors are allowed at once.  Anyone with flu-like symptoms should contact their doctor or go to urgent care facilities.

Officials said visitors should watch for these symptoms:

Fever of 100 degrees or higher or feeling feverish, a cough or sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, headache of body aches including chills, fatigue or nausea and flu-like symptoms that improve, but return with fever and cough.
