It's Dick Van Patten, the dad on "Eight Is Enough" that ran on ABC-TV from 1977-1981. He passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 86.

His acting career in films & TV kicked off WAYYY back in 1949 with the TV show "Mama" from 1949-1956.

He appeared as a guest star on many TV shows, including "That 70's Show," "Family Guy," "Love Boat," "Lois & Clark," "Baywatch," Growing Pains," "Family Ties," "CHiPS," "Happy Days," "The Soupy Sales Show," "Wonder Woman," "Adam-12," "Love American Style," "Sanford & Son," "I Dream of Jeannie" and many, many, many others.

He also appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in the film "Joe Kidd" and showed up in the films "Charly," "Soylent Green," "Westworld," "Freaky Friday," "Spaceballs" and others.

Mr. Van Patten seemed to be liked & respected by his peers & co-workers, an accomplishment in itself in Hollywood.
