Fayette, Michigan: Ghost Town from a Drone
Recently I listed some photos that show what the Michigan ghost town of Fayette looks like when it’s covered in snow. Well, here are photos of the town when there’s NO snow. But before I get to that, a beef...
Fayette has 19 original buildings that still stand today: the old hotel, mining company offices, residential houses, doctor’s office, blast furnace, town hall, and stores. It’s cool to walk thru the town and saunter into the buildings... but my beef is this: most people completely forget about the old resident homes on the west side along the Lake Michigan shore at Big Bay De Noc.
These are extremely cool old houses that the majority of visitors, videographers, and photographers over look. For me, it’s the coolest part of the town, away from most tourists who are busy wandering through the hotel or blast furnace. I’m hoping someday someone will take a decent video of that section of Fayette.

What did residents of Fayette do for fun? A local band was on hand performing concerts from time to time, baseball games, dances, bazaars, and even horse racing, where a track was provided for such.
Yes, you can visit any time of year, even in freezing winter.
Now take a look at the gallery below, featuring a few drone shots of Fayette.
