A Look Inside an Abandoned One-Room School in Southwest Michigan

Sometimes you have to be polite.

Sometimes you have to honor other people’s wishes.

So it goes with the undisclosed location of this abandoned one-room schoolhouse in southwest Michigan. It was requested to keep the address a secret, as there have already been enough vandals breaking in, wrecking the place. Not just that, but squatters putting in their own bedding.

I wish I could have gone to grade school in a one-roomer, just for the experience...but I have to rely on videographers like this to capture images so I can get a grasp on what I missed.

Many old films of the 1930s depict children attending a one-roomer....the old ‘Our Gang’ (“Little Rascals”) films from that time are perfect ones to watch and get an idea.
