Creepy Abandoned Church in Flint with Shady Past

The explorers of this church near Flint called it ‘creepy’ - looking at the images, I can see some instances where yes, it looks somewhat eerie. But then, there are a few ornate parts as well.

The disturbing part about this deserted church is not the atmosphere, but the history about past owners.....who were convicted of crimes. Pastor Larry Holly was convicted and sent to prison for eight years for mail fraud and money laundering. He collected over nine million dollars from senior citizens after convincing them to withdraw their savings, promising them false returns. They were coaxed to invest in real estate because “that’s what God wants them to do”....to “invest with him and not with realtors”.

He ended up spending the money on himself.

Built in the late 1970s, the church closed sometime around 2005 and was sold for $32,000.

According to Ruin Road, in 2019 a different headman of the church was arrested for “producing and owning illicit material of underage children.”
