Bagged Salad Recall That May Have Been Sold at Michigan Aldi’s

We're already in the middle of a pandemic and Covid-19.

Here you are trying to eat healthy, stay safe, and now you have to be on the lookout for Cyclospora?

How crazy is it that every other week or month or so, we have to be vigilant about our healthy eating choices. As long as we're downing greasy burgers, we don't seem to be in danger of catching e.coli, lysteria, and salmonella.

But bagged salads? Yup. And add Cyclospora to the list.

What is it?

Cyclospora infects the small intestine (bowel) and usually causes watery diarrhea, with frequent, sometimes explosive, bowel movements. Other common symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps/pain, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue. Vomiting, body aches, headache, fever, and other flu-like symptoms may be noted. (CDC)

And if you purchased bagged salad (especially from Aldi's) recently, you might want to check to see if it's on the list. Because ain't nobody got time for all that nasty business described above.

The recalled products were made in the Fresh Express production facility in Streamwood, Illinois.

The salads contained iceberg lettuce, red cabbage and carrots and include products made by Fresh Express for retail store brands sold at ALDI, Giant Eagle, Hy-Vee, Jewel-Osco, ShopRite and Walmart, according to the FDA. (CNN)
