Abandoned House in Highland Park, Full of Books
WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.
This is an interesting abandoned explore, although there is not much known about this old house.
The videographer calls it the ‘Joslyn House’, sitting on Hamilton Avenue in Highland Park, just out of Detroit. Don't confuse this part of Hamilton Avenue with the section next to the Detroit Golf Club, “where the elite meet”. ...Just go further south and you'll hit a section where this house lies.
Was this a business of some kind? Upstairs there is a room with shelves full of books, with paperwork scattered all over the floor. Was it a children’s library? Whatever it was, it was certainly left in the worst of shape.
Walking around upstairs, the floor is covered with so much ash and dirt, it makes it feel as if you are walking on sand. Debris and piles of garbage are everywhere. The front yard is littered with trash and the whole house is being taken over by foliage and the underbrush.
Each and every stairway is difficult to climb, as the steps are covered with decaying parts of the walls and bits and pieces of other household items.
This is not one of the safer abandoned homes to explore, as you will see in the photo gallery below...
