Abandoned McKinley Middle School: Flint, Michigan

According to a 2022 article from ABC12 News, neighbors in the McKinley Middle School area were upset with the ongoing deterioration of the school. The school district wants to keep it, but nothing was getting done with it.

One resident said “We see drug deals, homeless, winos, males urinating.....It’s just an eyesore and it breeds crime. Our home values are decreasing because of it.”

The parking lot became a dump area with littered booze bottle and garbage.

The following year, March 2023, a fire broke out in the auditorium.
The question of 'how did it start' is still unanswered.
Did a disgruntled resident have enough and decide to torch it?
Or was it started by trespassers/vandals?
