Are you familiar with Dexter Michigan? It's roughly about 40 miles away from Lansing. Dexter is a very nice place to live with lots of coffees shops and plenty of parks to choose from.

Dexter's is well known for their annual Ice Fest which usually features more than 80 ice sculptures. So it's time to bundle up and enjoy the craftsmanship of some of the best ice sculptures around.

According to mlive.com:

The family-friendly festival is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in downtown Dexter’s Monument Park. Activities are planned for throughout the day, as well as treats like hot chocolate and s’mores.

I really enjoy looking at ice sculptures because I am truly amazed by the people who carve them out to become something spectacular.

Ice sculptures are generally used in entertaining, both as decorative statues and as functional display pieces.

Mlive.com also adds:

The event will feature ice sculptures sponsored by local businesses, like a doughnut, unicorn, horse and a snowmobile that people can sit on and take pictures with. There will also be famous characters making an appearance like the Grinch and Snoopy.

This might even be a new hobby for me to pursue in 2023. Can you picture me working with all kinds of ice tools and creating the perfect ice sculpture?  We all need new hobbies in 2023.

I think my best bet is to make the trip to Dexter's Ice Fest at Monument Park and talk to some of the people who actually make these magnificent ice sculptures. I'm willing to watch, listen, learn, and carve

Mlive.com:

“It’s just a magical experience for the Dexter community as well as the surrounding communities. People come in from all over Southeast Michigan to check out the ice fest and that is wonderful for Dexter,” Becky Cobler, Dexter Chamber president, said.
