Let me just say this about Holland, it's one of the most beautiful areas here in Michigan. I've been there several times for the famous Tulip Time festival which attracts thousands of people to the Holland area. It's the largest tulip festival in the U.S.

And now we get to look forward to another festival next summer, the Celtic festival!

According to mlive.com:

The event will feature an Irish dance and music party on Friday, June 24, followed the next morning by a day of traditional Highland games. The games, according to a news release, include "caber tossing, heaving heavy weights over a bar, sheaf tossing over a bar, throwing heavy weights for distance, and others-in both men's and women's divisions-all while wearing traditional Scottish kilts."

This sounds like it's going to be a very fun and exciting event. Not only because of the scheduled games, but also for lots of music and entertainment.

The Celtic festival will have two stages set up for Irish bands, and Irish and Scottish dancers will be there performing both days.

Over the years, the Holland area has been well known for their white sandy beaches, dining along the waterfront, and incredible art fairs throughout the downtown Holland area. And let's not forget about Holland's hiking trails in several wooded parks.

Now we all get to add one more attraction to this incredible list, the first annual Holland Waterfront Celtic Festival and Highland Games.

By the way, if you're wondering whether the Celtic festival will have Scottish and Irish foods available during the festival, the answer is yes.
