There are 83 counties in the state of Michigan. Out of those 83 counties, 18 of them are at high COVID-19 risk.

I always read up on this because I want to know where the hot spots are in Michigan. COVID-19 is going to be around for awhile and I feel like everyone should pay attention to low risk areas and high risk areas.

According to mlive.com:

People in counties at a high level (orange) should mask indoors in public regardless of vaccination status, per the CDC. However, anybody with symptoms, a positive test or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask in public regardless of where they live, the CDC says.

Summer is almost over, which means fall is going to start knocking on our doors soon and so is winter. And that can only mean one thing, another COVID-19 spike.

If you're curious about the 18 counties at high risk currently, mlive.com has this:

The 18 counties at a high level include seven in Southeast Michigan (Monroe, Washtenaw, Wayne, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Genesee), three in Southwest Michigan (Calhoun, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph), two in northern Lower Michigan (Manistee, Lake) and six in the U.P. (Mackinac, Menominee, Dickinson, Iron, Gogebic, Ontonagon).

In my opinion, now is not the time to forget that COVID-19 is still lurking in many Michigan counties and it's most certainly not going to stop any time soon.

Lately, I've known at least ten to fifteen people who tested positive for COVID-19. All are fine now which is a good thing, but we shouldn't let our guard down no matter what.
