This is the car of my dreams and I have to have one!  General Motors Co. has started building a coupe version of its ATS small luxury sedan at its Lansing Grand River assembly.

Production on the sporty two door model started about two weeks ago and the car now is being shipped to dealerships.

Mark Dickman, launch manager at the assembly plant says "It's very sleek, it's very nimble, it's quick and very fun to drive."

The coupe is intended to help raise Cadillac's luxury profile against the likes of German rivals Mercedes and BMW.

The ATS is Cadillac's entry level model and competes against the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.
