The calendar says it is August and the temperature today will be in the '90s, yet today is the day fans of all things pumpkin spice have been waiting for.

Starbucks, today, gives you the taste of fall.

Starbucks fall flavor offerings

The wait is over, today you can indulge in your favorites, like the Pumpkin Spice Latte, or the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. It is not all pumpkin, Starbucks has a new drink for you to try, the Iced Apple Crisp Macchiato.  This new treat is described as having the flavors of a gooey apple pie swirl into espresso, milk, and ice.  That's not all, the delicious, decadent drink is then topped with a caramelized spiced apple drizzle.

I have to admit, I am a basic black coffee kind of girl, that said, Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew could change that.  I have never had this drink, but it does sound delicious. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is sweetened with a dash of vanilla syrup, and then it is given a shot of pumpkin cream cold foam and then some pumpkin pie spice to make it perfect.

The Starbucks bakery is also busy making decadent delicious yummy pumpkin treats. like the very popular Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin.  If just reading about these yummy goodies makes the waistline on your pants feel tighter, it should.

Let's break it down.

The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew has up to 360 calories, depending on the size you order.   Let's say you order a Venti, which is 24oz. You will be downing 310 calories, 15 grams of fat, 40 carbs, 40 grams of sugar, and 3 grams of protein.

The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin contains 350 calories. This treat also has 14 grams of fat, 53 carbs, and 5 grams of protein.

To keep my weight steady, during the week I try and limit my calorie amount to between 600 and 800. With that little grab at the drive-thru, you are already at 660 calories and it's not even lunchtime.

I don't want to discourage anyone from stopping and grabbing their favorite beverage, but if you are trying to watch your weight and sugar intake, just make the drive-thru stop an occasional thing. Your waistline will thank you.
