Research states that what children learn in their first five years makes a significant impact on their entire life.  Parents, grandparents, childcare providers and educators all contribute to a child's development by providing a positive environment in which they can learn.

According to the Lansing State Journal, there are six areas of early development to encourage.  They are gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language, cognitive, social and emotional, self help and adaptive.

Here are some activities that are fun, yet dynamic influencers on early child development.  Take a walk in the neighborhood.  For example:  point out a church, grocery store or gas station and explain the purpose of each and who works there.

Another example:  Get organized, promote organization in your home while nurturing your child's cognitive, self help and adaptive skills.
