Do you think Michigan has the worst roads? My opinion? No doubt about it. Michigan has some of the worst roads ever and that includes several of our highways too.

According to the centersquare.com:

(The Center Square) – Michigan ranked 10th in the nation for the worst roads, according to a MoneyGeek study.

MoneyGeek analyzed overall road quality and the investment levels per lane mile nationwide and found that more spending on roads did not necessarily lead to better road quality.

By the way, I was driving down I-69 on Sunday heading straight to Indiana and I can flat out tell you that most of I-69 was in the worst condition I've ever seen.

And I'm not just talking about potholes, I'm talking about an old beat up highway with the worst driving conditions that go on for miles and miles at a time.

As I was driving down I-69 Sunday and crossed over into Indiana, the roads went from very bad in Michigan to very good in Indiana. What a difference!

Things are about to change along the I-94 and I-69 interchange. Work is now underway to improve a major stretch of I-69.

According to mlive.com:

The project is part of MDOT's ongoing $210 million investment to rebuild I-69 between Island Highway in Charlotte, Eaton County, and I-94 in Marshall, Calhoun County.

We can tell you that work on the interchange should be finished by Monday, April 18, 2022.

Overall, it's a major rebuild along I-69 which will be ongoing until 2023. They are rebuilding 25 miles of I-69. That project started back in 2020.

Mlive.com also adds:

Funding for this project is made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state’s economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improves the condition of the state’s infrastructure, MDOT said.

There's nothing better than driving on smooth, newly repaved highway and residential roads.
