Mid-Michigan’s WILX Morning News Team Announces: ‘We’re Engaged!’

It's a match made for morning matrimony! Seth Wells and Maureen Halliday, the anchors of the WILX News 10 Today show, recently announced their engagement to be married. While those who previously followed them on social media couldn't help but notice the two were an item, it did surprise many of their faithful viewers when it was revealed not only are the pair a couple, but Seth had proposed to Maureen while on a recent trip to New Jersey.

Halliday shared that a few loyal viewers commented, "I KNEW IT!". According to Wells, the couple met at WILX when he was working for the sports team, and she was a morning reporter for News 10 Today.

After a year of dating, Wells briefly worked for a television station in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before returning to WILX to anchor News 10 Today with Halliday around three years ago. Since then, the pair has kicked off mornings for thousands of residents across Mid-Michigan, seemingly without letting on that the two were romantically involved.

So, how did Wells pop the question? While on vacation in New Jersey, he'd arranged for the pair to spend the day 'apart,' saying that he and Halliday's father and brother would take in a Mets game. Meanwhile, while the game was happening, Halliday received a call from a family friend telling her to get to the Jersey Shore to see a whale. There was no whale when she arrived, but Seth was on one knee with a ring and a bouquet of flowers. She said yes.

Though the couple hasn't set a date yet, Halliday is confident the wedding will occur in 2025. They will keep people updated in the mornings and on social media. Personally, I want to know if Tim Staudt and Darrin Rockcole will be a part of the wedding party.
