One of the biggest questions coming into the 2020 season is, will we really play? Then, who will replace Brian Lewerke as the starting quarterback for Michigan State?

Will it be #12? They guy wearing #6 or the guy wearing #10? Andrew Maxwell was the last Spartan QB to wear the #10. No one Spartan QB should ever wear that again.

Who will be the starting quarterback this year for MSU? For those screaming ROCKY LOMBARDI, I think you may be correct but... The redshirt junior is the most likely to take over starting duties, yes. #6 Theo Day and #10 Peyton Thorne didn't come to East Lansing to hold a clipboard.

That is Rocky Lombardi throwing with his eyes closed. He is #12. 6-3 215 pounds. A lot of people think he will get the job based on experience. He was 2-1 last year filling in for Lewerke when he was injured. He said he views himself as the starter.

The other guys are a redshirt sophomore Theo Day. He has had very limited opportunities. He is 6-5 and 222 pounds.  Redshirt freshmen Peyton Thorne is also expected to compete for the starting QB job although his only experience is running the scout team last year, where he got rave reviews. He is 6-2 200 pounds. #14 Noah Kim is likely going to redshirt this season unless all hell breaks loose.

None of these guys were recruited by head coach Mel Tucker to play at MSU, so he isn't beholding to anyone.

We find out October 24th when MSU opens the season at home against Rutgers.

Who do you want to see lead the Spartans this year? My guess is Lombardi because you don't want him to transfer but you want to start building for the future and MSU will be in rebuild mode this year.
