Where’s Your Go-To Summer Fun Place in Greater Lansing
Here we are in the summer of 2022 and I have to say that summer is only half over, with plenty of summer fun left for the entire family.
There are so many great things you can do in the Greater Lansing area for the rest of summer. What are your go-to summer fun places?
Here's several of my favorites:
1. Hawk Island Park in Lansing-This is one of my favorite local parks in Lansing with plenty of room for everything you're looking for. Hawk Island Park is on Cavanaugh road and it's a 100 acre park. And yes, dogs are allowed in the park with the exception of the playground and the concession stand. (pk.ingham.org)
2. Little Hawk in Bath Township-located on Chandler Road. This is a natural grass putting course that is quite challenging and lots of fun for the entire family. My wife and I have played Little Hawk at least a dozen times this summer. If you need work on your putting game, this is the perfect spot for you. (eagleeyegolfclub.com)
3. Potter Park Zoo in Lansing-One of the best local zoo's around and it's right here in Lansing on South Pennsylvania Avenue. I've been going to Potter Park Zoo for several decades. Hundreds of great animals and very educational.
According to potterparkzoo.com:
Potter Park Zoo is a 20 acre zoo within an 80 acre park located in the capital city of Lansing, Michigan. With over 350 animal residents there is always something new and exciting to see. Come explore the Zoo and help us celebrate, study, and protect the diversity of animals and their habitats.
4. Lake Lansing in Haslett-This is a great time for anyone and everyone looking for all kinds of summer fun. This is a huge area featuring a sandy beach, swimming in Lake Lansing, beach volleyball, and an historical carousel building. If you love to swim, fish, or enjoy picnicking, then this is the summer fun you've been looking for. (pk.ingham.org)
Have a great time and enjoy the rest of your summer!
