When Can Michigan Expect the Announced Gas Hike?
According to AAA Michigan, gas prices throughout Michigan have risen at least by 4 cents per gallon in the past week.
Recently, we've seen gas prices in the Mid-Michigan area going for anywhere from $1.98 - $2.39 (Marquette being the highest)....all-in-all, the average Michigan gas price ($2.24) is up 67 cents more than it was this time last year.
In the past couple of weeks, we were told there would be a sharp gas hike...but it hasn't been that bad YET.
Expect prices to go up this Spring as our country prepares for vacationing...and even more so in Summer, possibly as much as 40 cents more than last Summer.
Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy, says “It’s just a bump in the road…almost within in a day or two of it coming it will start to trickle down…a little bit every day for a couple of weeks. That’s the way it works.”
DaHaan also wants Michigan drivers to know that we may not see gas prices under two dollars for quite a while.
Again, be on the safe side: GO FILL YOUR TANKS.
