There's a new pizza place in the Detroit area that's now officially open. It's called "Pizza Cat" and they promote it as "the weirdest pizza restaurant around."

This new restaurant is located in Detroit's Greektown at 407 Fort Street. If you know me and my love of pizza, then you have to know this place is next on my list.

The timing couldn't be any better, because my wife and I are going to a Detroit Tigers baseball game this Saturday at Comerica Park.

So the game plan is pizza for dinner at Pizza Cat on East Fort Street and then off to the Tigers game we go. Any place that calls themselves the weirdest pizza restaurant around, has sparked my interest for sure.

There has to be a reason why Pizza Cat is the weirdest place in Michigan. Here's what mlive.com has to say:

There are so many different toppings and sauces to choose from that the possibilities are nearly endless. We’re talking 1,962,273 possible pizza combinations to be exact. Some of the unusual toppings include beef brisket, corned beef, salami and pickles. Among the 20 sauces are Franks RedHot, Carolina BBQ, spicy ranch, Thousand Island and diablo gato hot sauce.

We all get it now, not your usual pizza joint. Can you imagine ordering a pizza loaded with salami and pickles, then smother it with Carolina BBQ.

I just want to check this new place out on Saturday before the Tigers game. I'm so use to ordering pizza with lots of cheese, ground beef, and mushrooms. It's time to change things up at Pizza Cat in Detroit's Greektown.

Just be prepared when you go because they do things just a little bit different from the norm. For example: Pizza Cat actually cooks their pizza in pie pans. (mlive.com)
