Icy, slushy and windy conditions won't last long today, according to the National Weather Service.

This frigid mess over the weekend, coupled with dangerous winds of up to 45 miles per hour, caused thousands of people to lose power in the Lansing region.

It may take a while for Consumers Energy customers  to get it back.  The utility doesn't expect to have all service restored throughout the state until 11 p.m.

Consumers Energy reported at about 5 p.m. Sunday there were still about 33,000 in the state without power.

At that time, there were still portions of St. Johns, Dewitt, East Lansing, Okemos and Alaiedon Township that were out of power.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
