This coming Saturday the 14th, it's the Hunger Heroes Race Series 2019. This is the event's 8th year, and the popular chip-timed 5k and 10k run/walk takes you through a scenic route in Williamston. There will even be a fun run for the kids.

The race begins at McCormick Park in downtown Williamston with the first of the races kicking off at 8 AM.

The Hunger Heroes event is the largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds supporting the weekend survival kits which are backpacks filled with food for those kids who may not get a meal over the weekend. With these kits, the kids don't go hungry over the weekend.

This years first race is the 5k Gone Bad race which is a 5k run with CrossFit challenges. If you want to take part in the races, packet pickup will begin at 7:15 the day of the race.

Weekend Survival Kits is a nonprofit with a mission to mobilize communities to provide food on the weekends to in grades k-5 who otherwise go hungry, ultimately helping remove barriers to academic success.

Giving hope to hungry kids.
