First off, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

None of it. Don't repeat it, replicate it, nothing.

Now, we do encourage you wearing a face mask.

And some of you are down with that.

Others are not.

And not only are they not down with it, they will let you know about it.

Kicking, screaming, throwing groceries, full blown meltdowns in stores. You've seen the videos right?

And their arguments range from people being sheep, the pandemic being a hoax, to simply THE MASKS DON'T WORK.

But according to the CDC:

“We are not defenseless against COVID-19,” said CDC Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield. “Cloth face coverings are one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus – particularly when used universally within a community setting. All Americans have a responsibility to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.(CDC)

And now, even the president is chiming in and encouraging Americans to put on a mask.

And as for all this talk about the masks not working:

Masks are recommended as a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when the person wearing the mask coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice.

... masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth. COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet), so the use of masks is particularly important in settings where people are close to each other or where social distancing is difficult to maintain. (CDC)

So with all that being said, I direct you to the top of this article for a real world, practical video demonstration from Uncle Rob on "Do Face Mask Work Or Not"?

Complete with homemade flamethrower demonstration to show how face mask prevent the spray of droplets and help slow the spread.

And apparently also keep you from lighting your face on fire. Which I guess is an added bonus.

Did we mention to never ever do this? At home or anywhere else?
