One of the best reasons to live in Michigan is the fact that we have so many wonderful places for you to spend your summer vacation. Charlevoix is one place our family has been going to for years, and there is so much to do and see.

One of my favorites is a wine tour (shocking I know). We all have heard about the Traverse City wineries, but did you ever go to the Petoskey Wine Region? The region features wineries throughout Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Indian River. That is one of my favorite ways to spend a day during vacation. You can check out all of their websites for times and to see if the pandemic is messing with their schedules at all.

You could also book a charter fishing tour. The fishing in the Charlevoix area is amazing, and the Captains of these charters know the best places to fish. You won't go home empty handed.

Also, did you know Earnest Hemingway has quite a connection to Michigan? The famed writer spend his boyhood summers in Northern Michigan. You can even follow his footsteps and stop at some of his favorite haunts.

Feeling up for exercise? Grab a bike and hit the trails. You will find an amazing tour of Lake Michigan, so beautiful.

Watching the Northern Lights never disappoints, on a clear night you can see the Milky Way, and the Persoid Meteor shower is showing itself this month.

Charlevoix offers so many wonderful vacation options including beautiful places to stay, and don't even get me started on their fabulous restaurants.

We are dealing with a pandemic, but if you follow the Government guidelines and mask up and social distance, you will be able to visit the many beautiful places that Michigan has to offer. It does not disappoint.

You can even see and learn about the Mushroom Houses.
