We are all familiar with Trader Joe's and looking forward to seeing one being built in Meridian Township.

Do you remember where the former Golden Wok restaurant used to be? It's being demolished and taken down to the ground to make room for a new Trader Joe's grocery store.

Lately it seems as if when one business closes their doors for good, another business is being built to take its place.

The Golden Wok was a very nice restaurant during its time and we all appreciated their food and service over the years.

But now it's time to focus on a new project on Grand River, and that's Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's is an American chain of grocery stores and this chain has over 500 stores nationwide.

According to the Lansing State Journal:

The development will be approximately 13,500 square feet and include 2.2 acres of property on Grand River Avenue and Northwind Drive, according to the township's website. The site is across Grand River Avenue from Whole Foods and not far from the Meridian Township Costco art Park Lake Road and Saginaw Highway.

If you're not too familiar with Trader Joe's, just take a look at their official website at traderjoes.com.

So many people are looking forward to shopping at Trader Joe's once this project is completed.

There are several other Trader Joe's locations in Michigan as well. There's one in Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and even five in the Metro Detroit area.

The Lansing State Journal also adds:

There will be a lot of activity on the site for demolition and once buildings are down underground work for the development will start, said Bob Ford of Landscape Architects & Planners, Inc. who is involved with the project.
