If your like me, when illness hits your home, the first place you head to is your medicine cabinet.  Tylenol, band-aids, creams, your daily meds,  basically what ever you need to feel better.

Moving on, we are not in the midst of a global health crisis, and whether or not you get COVID-19, it is so very important to be prepared.

CNN has come up with a list of the basics that you should at least have set aside, if not then its time to make a run to the drug store.

Pandemic Essentials

A Thermometer- A fever is a hallmark symptom of Covid-19, especially if your fever reaches 100.4 or higher.  Always take your temp first, before you use a fever reducer, those will lower your temp but only for awhile.  Once you know how bad your fever is, then take your medicine.  Doctors recommend using a rectal thermometers for infants, otherwise under the tongue works just fine.

Cough drops and cough syrups should always be on hand and have a current 'use by date'.

Acetaminophen- this will help reduce the muscle ache pains associated with Covid-19 and other viruses as well as fevers.

Ibuprofen:  This is a great anti-inflammatory and also really great at reducing pain.

Antidiarrheals - Diarrhea is a symptom of Covid-19 and if you get hit with it, Doctors say to make sure you hydrate aggressively.

Face masks or facial coverings -  I think we all have those.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer and also Laytex gloves.

It is always better to err on the side of caution, and with this pandemic that the world is facing, well its good to be prepared not only for yourself but your family as well.
