They’re Fixing The Roads In Frandor And It’s A Hot Mess
Lansing Facts Foretold This Long Ago
It goes without saying that Frandor, pot holes, bad roads, and horrible parking lots are par for the course for us.
Frandor is a punching bag for one of our favorites on Facebook, Lansing Facts.
They have been calling this catastrophe for a while now. The rest of us are just now seeing it come to fruition.
Can Someone Tell Me What Project This Is?
I googled "Frandor Construction Project" and all I got was details about the Ranney Park/Montgomery Drain Project.
According to a City of Lansing website about the project, “The current Montgomery Drain stormwater improvement project will repair sections of the existing drain and add new facilities including detention ponds, rain gardens and ‘low impact design’ features. Areas within the City of Lansing include the former Red Cedar Golf Course, the Frandor Shopping area and the Frandora Hills neighborhood (see map). (East Lansing Info)
Is this what's going on? Is this really affecting or causing construction on Clippert and Vine and most points inbetween?
You Might Want To Avoid These Areas - We've Got Photos
For whatever reason, we've got major road construction in Frandor and it's going to cause a headache starting here.
Saginaw and Clippert. Right by Huntington Bank and Medawar Jewelers. That whole section of Clippert between Saginaw and Grand River is shut down so you know come 5 pm this is gonna be frustrating.
Then headed the opposite direction you have this.
At Clippert and Vine you have even more construction.
Right by Qdoba, Vine is closed between Homer and Clippert and you've got a lot of cones and whatnot in the streets on Clippert to mess things up.
One more monkey wrench to throw in there as well. You're right at the building formerly known as Sears but now home to Sparrow and their Covid-19 testing and vaccine site. And traffic there routinely looks like this.
Wrapped all the way around and down alongside Clippert right to Vine which is where you enter to get to the Sears parking lot.
Unless you've got legit business over in Frandor, you should just avoid this mess. And if you can't avoid it, try to hit it during off peak hours. Even this past weekend it was busy and congested and the construction and pylons didn't help AT ALL.
You've been warned.
