“The Tridge” in Midland Looks Like the Alien Craft from War of the Worlds
Some say it looks like an octopus; others say it resembles a spider...but I say it looks more like one of the alien spacecraft from the 1953 version of War of the Worlds.
It's the "Tridge," a 3-way bridge found in Midland.
The Tridge is visited by hundreds of people for different reasons: it's set in a beautiful location, you can picnic or relax, go to the skateboard park, dog park, nearby Chippewassee Park, check out a farmer's market, golf course, disk golf, Towsley Dike Park, and cruise a bike trail.

The Tridge is a footbridge that spans across the Tittabawassee River with a 3-way fork. In the center is a little area where you can relax and get a good view of all three walkways.
It makes a good roadtrip destination someday, right? Just take 127 north to Mount Pleasant. Get off exit 143 and turn left (east) on US 20. Just before you get into Midland, you'll cross over the Tittabawassee River; turn right on west Main Street; go a couple of blocks to Ashman St. and turn right. There you'll find a parking lot.
