You know we're getting closer to the holidays when you see the news that the official state Christmas tree is on its way to Lansing. According to the Silver Bells in the City Facebook page, this year's state Christmas tree is coming all the way from Iron Mountain. It's a 61 foot blue spruce that was selected by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget. The tree is being donated by Jordan and Sarah Wolfenberg and their family and is scheduled to arrive in downtown Lansing on October 26th.

The tree will be lit during the Silver Bells in the City tree lighting ceremony which will take place on Friday, November 22nd after the big Electric Light parade in downtown Lansing. I've been to several Silver Bells in the City tree lighting ceremonies through the years and they're always a lot of fun. Click here to find out more about Silver Bells in the City.
