The Hammer Comes Down At Ford

The word from the Ford Motor Company is that they will be cutting 7 thousand white collar  jobs, or about 10% of it's salaried staff world wide.   This is all part of the Automakers cost- cutting effort that Ford says will save the company about 600 million dollars a year.

Ford says that they will be notifying those white collar workers starting today.  The move is an effort to cut bureaucracy within the company and flatten the management  structure.

Fords layoff's are similar to the white-collar job cuts GM announced n November .
